The Local Women Local Enterprise Project Presents the
SPRING CRAFTS & FOOD MARKET
The Local Women Local Enterprise Market is running in Gateshead for the first time, with stalls held by enterprising local women selling unique handmade crafts & food products!
Where: At The Comfrey Project, Windmill Hills Centre, Chester Place (off Bensham Road), GATESHEAD, NE8 1QB
When: Saturday 8th April 2017 12.00 – 4.00 PM
In preparation for the market, we delivered a 7 week Going to Market Course at the Comfrey Project in Gateshead, for women who make their own products or who have a service they want to provide, to learn how they can sell to the public. The course included working out costings and prices, product research and development, packaging and labeling, publicity and promotion, health and safety and a visit to a local market.
At the end of the course, the participants stated that taking part has made them feel more confident about selling to the public. One participant stated, “I have gained more knowledge to become self employed and run my own business.” The women who took part will now have a go at selling their product or service at the Market event on 8th April.
The market and activities will take place on the green space in front of the Comfrey Project Building. Live music, free face painting and other family activities will be available, so the event is a perfect opportunity for families to pop along and have a great time. Please visit the Market’s event page on our Website or Facebook page for further information and for directions to the event;
